Hostile Takeover

Hostile Takeover - Joey W. Hill This book was hot, hot, hot.

Ben is the one guy who has managed to remain single up until now. He's not set against marriage, and he's happy that his friends (other four hot damn Doms) have found their happy ever afters, the thing is: happy ever afters are for everyone except him, or at least that's what Ben likes to think.

Ben is best friends with one of his best friend's little sister in-law. He knows her since she was sixteen years old, and is always there for her whenever she needs him. The one thing he ignores even though it nags at him, is the crush Marcie has always had for him. At one time he thinks it is a girlish crush that would eventually go away. Oh boy, is he wrong or what?

Marcie knows there is no other man for her but Ben. She knows all about his group, and why they're called the Knights of the Boardroom. She may be young, but she's always been well aware of what her sister, the other women, and the guys are all about and she wants in. When she ends up interning as Ben's assistant for a couple of weeks, she sees that as her one and only chance to let him she's no longer the little girl he still thinks her to be. Oh no, she's all about letting him know she KNOWS he's a DOM and not just ANY DOM, and most importantly that SHE can be a SUB, HIS SUB. She wants nothing more than for him to be her MASTER. Ben balks at that, and tries to run, and when that doesn't work he tries to teach her a lesson. Hmmm... yeah, the lesson or lessons are pretty darn HAWT, and the one who ends up being taught a lesson is not the intended pupil but Ben himself.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I had to take some breaks in between as I read it, some scenes were just pretty out there yet they kept me coming back to it.

This is the fifth installment in these series; however, the book stands by itself as it revolves around Ben's and Marcie's relationship. I do want to read the other four books in the series as I'm curious about how the other Doms found their HEA.

Blurb:

Book V of the Knights of the Board Room series (can be read as standalone)

Ben is the last unattached member of the five-man executive team of K&A Associates. The other four, all Masters, have found the submissive of their dreams. That’s fine. The sharp-edged lawyer knows he’s the most hardcore of all of them, with extreme tastes as a Master he satisfies physically through experienced club submissives. He doesn’t really need anything more than that.

Marcie has loved Ben since she was sixteen. He’s never behaved as anything more than a protective big brother, a family friend. But now she’s twenty three and starting her career as a corporate investigator. She may be a blood-and-bone deep submissive, but she won’t hesitate to use her aggressive talents to prove she’s meant to be his. With a Master as tough as Ben, she’ll have to take whatever measures are needed—even if her deepest desire isn’t a hostile takeover of his heart, but an unconditional surrender to it.

Reader Advisory: Marcie’s sexual journey contains a group scene of female/female sexual exploration. The Masters also share her in a brief group scene.
