Manhunt - Lillie Spencer A drama-suspense of best friends forever turned lovers...

Michael is the very bad boy next door. He becomes Nikki's knight in shining armor from the moment he sets eyes on her when they're just kids. Michael is always in trouble. He doesn't look for it, trouble finds him. He comes from a very poor family, and so does his friend Christian. Everyone that looks at him thinks him white trash. He comes from an abusive family. His father is not the best example, and who would've known that the day his father and mother die, Michael's future would forever change. Through the years, Michael and Nikki become inseparable. They're each other's first love, but Michael shatters Nikki's heart when he decides to leave her. Nikki thinks the worst of him, but what she doesn't know is the last thing Michael is, is being selfish. Michael doesn't feel he deserves her, and so his goal is to become a Doctor. He hopes that by the time he's done, Nikki is still there and available, so he can finally claim her as his only.

Nikki is never the same from the time Michael leaves. She doesn't know how it happens, suddenly she finds herself in a relationship with Sebastian, who happens to be Michael's rival. Sebastian knows Nikki is not over Michael, and does everything he can to make her forget him. The thing is, Sebastian is an abusive jerk. He abuses her not only mentally but physically too. It takes one night, Nikki trying to survive gives Sebastian what he deserves. That night changes things for everyone who ever knew her, and the manhunt begins.

This was an interesting read. Nikki loses her memory and so there are several flashbacks into her childhood, which provide a look into not only her life but Michael's and their best friends. There were times when they're on the run in which the story slowed down a bit, then it picked up once more. Based on the premise of the story, the end was predictable, then again it was an entertaining read.

Sometimes you have to forget it all to remember what really matters.

Michael Brennan's life and career come to an abrupt halt when he receives a phone call telling him the love of his life, Nikki Wright, is in the hospital after another attack by her ex-boyfriend Sebastian Cross. Rushing back to Hershey, PA, Michael turns up at Nikki's hospital bedside covered in Sebastian's blood and tells her they have to leave immediately.

Though her injuries have induced amnesia, Nikki inherently feels she can trust this man with her life. Soon, they find themselves on the run from both their own troubled pasts and authorities hunting for Sebastian's killer. With each new day and each touch drawing her further into Michael's embrace, Nikki remembers more about this fugitive she once loved, and who still loves her enough to risk everything to protect her and keep her safe. But can she love a man who just might be a murderer?
