Release Me

Release Me - J. Kenner Oh.My.God. Where do I start? Damien, that's where.

Damien is a famous ex-tennis player, who's now a thirty year old entrepreneur with more than just a few ghosts in his closet. He's used to control, and never accepts no for an answer in business or in bed, it doesn't matter. It's always Damien's way or the highway. But who in the right mind would say no to him?

He's got his sight set on Nikki, and not from just now. He's kept tabs on her since they first crossed paths at a pageant several years ago. They're "kindred spirits", Damien says. Anyone would think he's a stalker, I mean, he's even got a file on Nikki. But, heck! Who would mind having him as a stalker? Not me, and surely not Nikki.

Anyone who doesn't really know Damien, thinks he is a ruthless man. And they're not off the mark, because he really is ruthless. But it doesn't take Nikki long to realize that underneath that facade, there is a man who's known pain and betrayal, just like she has.

Nikki is brand new to L.A. She lands a job with a guy who fires her (what a jerk!)the moment his business proposal doesn't go through with Damien's company. She's jobless and thinking of her next move, when Damien presents her with a proposal she wants to turn down but finds impossible to do.

In the same way Damien has ghosts in his closet, Nikki has some too and very visible if one knows where to look. Everyone can think her perfect, but she's not. She's got serious issues and has managed to control them for a few years now, but being with Damien may make her go back to her old ways.

All right, so I've read all of Fifty Shades of Grey's books, Bared to You and Reflected in You, needless to say I love Christian Grey and Gideon Cross (I don't care what anyone says). They're similar stories with different twists here and there, and I've enjoyed them very much. BUT, Release Me... goodness, it just made the top of my list with Damien and Nikki.

Some readers may find similarities with this story and the others I've mentioned; however, in Release Me, the way in which J. Kenner tells the story, how vulnerable and real Damien and Nikki feel, makes this story so good, and re-readable many times over. Oh yes! If anyone were to ask me: which of the three sets of books to read, I'd say "READ J.KENNER" before you read any of the others.

Again, this is my point of view after having read all of these books. Really, anyone looking for what to read after Fifty or Bared, then Release Me is it. And anyone who hasn't read any of these and is trying to figure out where to start, then I'd recommend to start with Release Me.

Last, there is more of Damien Stark and Nikki. Claim Me and Complete Me will be out in 2013 and I CANNOT wait for those. The wait is already killing me.

Blurb:

He was the one man I couldn’t avoid. And the one man I couldn’t resist.

Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy, confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me.

Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past—and risk breaking us apart.

But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him—and us—forever.

Release Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.
