Marvelous…Magical…five of five stars. It’s been about thirteen years since the first time I read this book. I’ve re-read it countless times, and no other book can top it. The time travel, reincarnation, and the clues are fantastic. Who would’ve thought the key to time travel was making love?
Dougless seems a docile woman with a jerk of a boyfriend, who leaves her stranded pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Then Colin shows up, disoriented, thinking he’s in his time- which he isn’t. Dougless helps him to get around in the new century he’s now in, but then there is a turn of events and she goes back with him. Being together brings out the best of each other, Dougless realizes being docile is not who she truly is. Then Colin learns to love.
This is the one book I have to blame for making me a romanceholic, and the one book “to dating” all women should read– no I’m not trying to be funny, I’m quite serious actually. It puts expectations on perspective. I have to admit every time I read it, it brings tears to my eyes. I do get the end, I absolutely love it. The thing is, no matter how many more times I’ll get to read this book, the end will always come as a surprise.
